“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy”-Anna Frank, welcome to my Amsterdam experience!
My friend Nadia and I met while living in Montpellier (France) and although we only knew each other for few months I kind of new straight away that it would a friend for live.
Every once in a while we try to meet, I’ve visited her in France, she had visited me in London and that’s why we thought that it was about time to meet somewhere in the middle and we decided that Amsterdam was the best destination!
We didn’t want to book a hotel as it was going to be 4 of us, so we booked a house through Airbnb, I’ve never used it before so at first I was quite…not scare, but intrigue for the whole experience(for those of you who don’t know what Airbnb is, basically you stay in someone’s house).
Well so Nadia found this cute house with two beds perfect for 4, close to the centre and we decided to book as the price was just amazing! (€40 per person, per night)
This was our home for those days,
The first thing I’ve noticed as soon as we arrived to Amsterdam was the friendliness of the people! My biggest mission was to see Anna Frank’s house so it was one of the first things we did, everyone told me that it was going to be at least a 2 hours queu to enter, but trust me, in half an hour we were in, it goes pretty fast and is a must visit in Amsterdam.
There is so much to see in such a small city, with 200 bridges, some of the most important museums in Europe, the Keukenhof Gardens…that’s why if you are just going for a weekend I would recommend you to do a tour on a cruise, it cost around €16 and you get an overview of the city,
I knew that I was going to like this city but I think that I’ve felt in love with Amsterdam, the charisma of this city is just out of this world, “some tourist think Amsterdam is a city of sin, but in truth is a city of freedom and in freedom most people find sin”-John Green.
Happy Wednesday Beauties!
