I’ve been several times in Gran Canaria but that was years and years ago, this time there was something particularly special about this visit as it was my Gran Canaria Bank Holiday Weekend big reunion!
Let me put you in situation… back in my “Uni” days I made some very special friends, but with the distance, I haven’t being able to see many of them, so when my friend Randu (from Mexico) told me that he was planning to come back to Spain to make a big reunion I was totally up for it!
We decided to meet in Gran Canaria as another good friend of mine, Victor, is from there and due to work he wasn’t able to come to Madrid.
We landed Friday evening and we only had until Monday morning to try to get the most of each other!
I nearly forgot how beautiful this island is… is just a paradise,
There was just a little problem, Victor had a wedding on Saturday and as we were only going to stay for the weekend he asked his friends if he could bring us along, the couple said that there was no problem at all and it was such an amazing day!
They had a pool party with live music and at one point most of the guest went in the pool while the bride threw the bucket of flowers!
In the middle of the evening they gave us a “Hungover cure envelope” (for the hard drinkers 😛 ) with:
- A chewing gum.
- A lollypop.
- A back of “conguitos” (is the Spanish version of M&M’s)
- A lemon wet towel.
- A condom.
- An aspirin.
- A plaster.
And my outfit was,
- Bershka Long Blazer and Graceland shoes,
- Pull & Bear Jumpsuit I later had to change my shoes into sandals, you know how it is… 😛
It was such a lovely wedding!
Our last day, we decided to spend it on the beach in the south of the island and we had an amazing paella just right in front of the beach,
The highlight of this weekend was definitely the reunion with my friends and being able to share it with the love of my life (my boyfriend), after all this years it looked like if the time didn’t pass by, but probably that’s what friendships are made of…
Did you guys do anything special this weekend? any trips? any suggestion for the next bank holiday weekend?
Happy Monday Beauties!
