I was in the search of this palette for a very long time and I finally got it!
I think a good contour look is the base of any make up, but always remember not to bring it to the extreme, otherwise it would unnatural and personally, I think, the most natural your make up looks, the better you’ll look.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette, has been an on and off product since they released it, as most of the time is sold out, I purchased mine in Sephora, there’s no Sephora in UK but I ordered it online as they delivery worldwide and let me tell you, it was my first purchase online in Sephora and I absolutely give it both thumbs up! it arrived in less than a week! the delivery charges are a bit pricy but if you compare prices the total cost is worthy.
Also, you’ll notice in the picture that there are some other products from “make up forever” and a few samples…well as I’m a huge Sephora’s fan (as for me is the perfect shop) they sell most of my favourite brands, like Benefit and Nars and they normally have quite good offers, you’ll not find MAC in a Sephora shop but normally where there’s a Sephora, there’s a Mac just besides (at least is like this in Italy and Spain).
So as I was telling you, because I’m subscribe in Sephora, they got me this super cute mini make up kit from Make up Forever with a small mascara and a nude brown lipstick with a Happy birthday message on the box, I mean, how nice is that?! (you also normally get 3 samples every time you buy anything).
This contour palette is just the best contour kit I’ve ever seen, it contains 6 shades, 3 for highlight and 3 for contouring and the shades are:
- Vanilla: which is a matte highlight, I like to use it as a finish powder.
- Banana: one of the most famous ones and I must admit that is my favourite one, is also a matte highlight.
- Sand: this shade is a shimmery highlight, great to use when your contour is finish just to give that special touch to your look.
- Java: great to define your features.
- Fawn: this is my favourite contour’s shade, it has like an ash tone that make you contour look extremely natural.
- Habana: is the darkest shade and if your skin tone is medium to dark is also great to use as a bronzer, is kind of like the upgrade version of Hola bronzer form Benefit, in my opinion.
If you’ve never used this palette, one thing you should know is that is really pigmented, so you just need to use a small quantity, last all day and it does not go patchy at all.
The palette is also magnetic, so if one of the shades is finish you can always buy a replacement as they sell them as individual shades as well, which is great if you finish one of the shades as you won’t need to buy the whole palette again just the color that you need or even a replacement with a different shade that suits you better (Anastasia has created a selection of 21 contour shades that you can purchase individually).
With this palette you’ll be able to create one of the most requesting looks of the time, which is the Kim Kardashian one, and is not that expensive, the whole palette cost $40 and each individual shade is around $8, so if you were wondering what to ask this Christmas here you have a very good option!
Tomorrow I’ll be posting some contour looks created with this palette in my Instagram and Twitter account so you can see the finish results, let me know what you think!
Just 2 days left for my birthday weekend!
Good night beauties! 😉
